Summary:
The Corporation, a $5 Billion leading global chemicals and building products company, is hiring an Assistant Controller at our Lake Charles, Louisiana Chemicals manufacturing facility.
This critical role will provide oversight and support of our Finance and Accounting function at the plant, including providing financial oversight over an onsite joint venture in Lake Charles. The Lake Charles manufacturing facility is the Corporation's largest plant supporting sales of approximately $1 Billion annually.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/
Responsibilities:
oPerforming and providing oversight over the monthly closing process with an emphasis on timely and accurate reporting, and insuring accurate product costing and cost allocations
oProviding leadership to other plant areas with a focus on accurate financial reporting, timely entry and receipt of materials and services, and supporting Purchasing in resolution of invoicing or purchase order discrepancies
oAssisting in preparation of the annual budget, including developing key assumptions and insuring accurate product costing and timely preparation of standard costs
oAssisting in the analysis and preparation of capital project authorizations
oProviding proper oversight in the development of accurate financial product line forecasts
oCompleting detailed, monthly and ad-hoc product line deviation analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior year including
oMaintaining strong relationships with functional and operational plant members to stay abreast of current activities
oMaintaining a rigorous control environment including compliance with all SOX and corporate requirements
oManaging the accurate, timely, and thorough completion of all account reconciliations by published, corporate deadlines
oInsuring accurate reporting and timely resolution of inter-company transactions and out-of-balances
oInsuring accurate inventory reporting and insuring proper financial accounting over key raw material transactions including various toll and exchange scenarios
oServing as a key super user for the SAP FICO module and acting as a liaison between the plant and SAP Center of Excellence
oIdentifying and driving various cost savings and process improvement initiatives
oPerforming ad-hoc cost and other financial analyses as needed
oManaging and developing finance and accounting staff members

Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field with 7
years of accounting experience AND at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Other requirements include a proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful candidate will also have
Strong, hands-on experience, particularly in costing, in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemicals or a similar process industry.
ERP experience particularly with SAP is strongly desiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
