PROCESS ENGINEER
Requirements:
SCOPE:
Independently performs process engineering activities for all phases of process development and plant design for a small project or selected segment of a larger project. Must be fully competent in performing all conventional aspects of process engineering and application of independent judgment for the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation of standard process engineering methods and procedures. Assignments have clear and specific objectives which require periodic evaluation by a more senior engineer.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
May provide some technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers or specialists.
EDUCATION:
Normally requires at least a 4 year degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Science with Chemical Engineering major.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 4 years experience in process/design engineering or related functional area (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). This includes considerable experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. Registration as a licensed professional engineer is preferred but is not required.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets with clients' technical staff to develop acceptable processes and control features.
Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
Prepares equipment duty specifications.
Communicates process design to client and other design disciplines.
Participates in process safety reviews.
Prepares operators instruction manuals.
Participates in preparation of contract proposals.
Participates in plant start-ups.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plant and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as algebraic equations, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally, may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
